Algonquin Honors 5 Local Businesses With 2025 Business Awards

ALGONQUIN, IL — The Village of Algonquin has recognized five local businesses and organizations for their contributions to the community as part of the 2025 Algonquin Business Awards.

The annual awards program honors businesses that demonstrate excellence in areas including new development, improvements, community service, small business success and economic impact, according to village officials.

"The success of Algonquin is built on the strength of our local business community," Village President Debby Sosine said. "We are proud to recognize the businesses whose commitment to excellence continues to strengthen our economy and enrich our community."

This year's award recipients include:

• New Architectural Award: The Fresh Market, 2216 S. Randall Road, for transforming multiple vacant tenant spaces into a modern storefront with updated façade materials, a new entrance vestibule, signage improvements and site enhancements along the Randall Road corridor.
• Rehabilitation & Improvement Award: Algonquin Public Library's Eastgate Branch, 115 Eastgate Drive, for renovations that added expanded children's areas, updated programming spaces, improved accessibility, a drive-up window, a new patio and other facility upgrades.
• Community Service Award: Corey's NYC Bagel Deli, 2375 S. Randall Road, for its outreach and charitable efforts supporting families affected by Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease.
• Small Business Award: Clock Tower Cupcakes, 123 S. Harrison Street, for its handcrafted baked goods and role in adding to the character and charm of Historic Downtown Algonquin.
• Community Economic Impact Award: Lennar, for its investment in the Westview Crossing and Algonquin Meadows residential developments, which are adding approximately 500 housing units and contributing to the village's long-term economic growth.

The Algonquin Village Board recognized the award recipients during its July 7 meeting, where Sosine and the Algonquin Economic Development Commission honored the businesses for their contributions.

Nominations for the awards can be submitted by village staff or members of the public. Recipients are selected by the Economic Development Commission.
