Algonquin-Lake In The Hills Fire Fighters Extinguish Sycamore Street Structure Fire
No firefighters or civilians were injured in the March 14 fire.
On Sunday night, March 14, 2021 at approximately 9:30pm the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 1110 Sycamore St in Lake in the Hills. First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene within 5 minutes and found a ranch style single family home, with smoke coming from the front of the home.
Crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack into the basement and the fire was under control in 10 minutes. The occupants were alerted by the smoke and smoke detectors and was able to evacuate the home prior to fire department arrival. No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, SEECOM Dispatch Center, and the Fox River Grove Fire Protection District
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A damage estimate is not yet available.
