Algonquin, LITH Elementary, Middle and High Schools Receive Good Grades: Rankings
Consolidated School District No. 158 was among the best in the area with an "A-" grade while District 300 received a "B-."

Algonquin and Lake in the Hills schools received high ranks by Niche but not quite as high as nearby Crystal Lake, Cary and Huntley schools, according to recently released 2015 K-12 rankings.
Niche ranks more than 100,000 public and private schools and districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents. A full explanation on how Niche evaluates schools can be found on the organization’s website.
Both Algonquin and Lake in the Hills public schools received an overall ”B+” grade. Meanwhile, schools in nearby Crystal Lake received a rank of “A-” while Cary and Huntley schools received an “A”

As for local high schools, Huntley High School received an “A-” while Crystal Lake South received a “B+” grade and Harry D. Jacobs High School received a “B.”
Meanwhile, Cary-Grove High, Prairie Ridge and Crystal Lake Central high schools received some of the highest grades -- an ”A” -- among area high schools.

When it came to the best overall school districts, Consolidated School District No. 158 was among the best in the area with an ”A-” grade. Niche ranked the district as the 30th best district in the state.
Niche did not provide as favorable of rank for Community Unit School District No. 300, which received a ”B-” and was ranked as the 136th best district in the state.
Several Algonquin and Lake in the Hills elementary and middle schools also received ”A” grades, according to Niche rankings.
The rankings also look at schools with the “Best Teachers,” “Best Food,” “Best Sports,” ”Best Academics” and more.
