  • Barrington will hold a 4th of July Parade and kids bike brigade. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. Kickstart your July 4th early with this patriotic parade. Enjoy watching from the sidelines or join in by registering before the parade begins. Barrington's White House Open House will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence and other historic events. Fireworks will be shot off at dusk at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main Street.

Crystal Lake Lakeside Festival Fireworks

  • When: Fireworks on July 7 at dusk; the festival runs from July 4 through July 7
  • Where: Lakeside Arts Park at the Dole, 401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake.
  • What: Besides the fireworks show that wraps up the festival on its final day, there is live music, a carnival, parade, food and much more. Cost for admission is $5 and kids 12 and under are free. A full schedule of events and more information can be found here.

Northwest Fourth Fest in Hoffman Estates

The festival gets underway on the Fourth of July but fireworks will be shot off on July 7 at 9:30 p.m. at the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates. The festival also includes a carnival, petting zoo, musical entertainment, parade, food and drink and plenty of daily activities for the whole family. The fireworks can be viewed from anywhere on the festival grounds. More via the event website.
