Algonquin Man Arrested For Money Laundering
Christopher Galie, 35, is being held on a $400,000 bail.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 35-year-old Algonquin man faces 12 counts of money laundering following his arrest Wednesday, prosecutors said. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Task Force launched an investigation into Christopher Galie in June 2019.
At that time, authorities began looking into drug allegations linked to Galie, according to a news release. During the probe, they discovered he was laundering $500,000, which was derived from the criminal drug activity, to buy real estate, cryptocurrency and gold and silver bars, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Galie's bail has been set at $400,000 and is next expected in court on June 22.
