Algonquin Mexican Restaurant Closes After Eviction for Unpaid Rent
Casa Tequilas shuttered its doors following a court order requiring nearly $41,000 in back rent, ending operations at its second location.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A McHenry County judge ordered Casa Tequilas Mexican Grill to vacate its Algonquin location after falling nearly $41,000 behind on rent, following an eviction case filed last August by the building’s owner.
The restaurant continued operating past the judge’s deadline but has now closed, with a handwritten sign on the door saying it’s shut “for remodeling,” according to Shaw Local.
Court records show the owners were ordered to pay back rentand leave the space they leased for about $7,600 a month. This was the company’s second location, which opened last year at 1505 S. Randall Road, according to the article.
