Algonquin Police Blotter: Battery, DUI

The Algonquin Police Department responded to the following arrests in recent days.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Here is a look at recent arrests and police reports that occurred in Algonquin:

  • Michael T. Arakelian, 55, of Riverdale Court in Algonquin, was arrested at his home at 5:18 p.m. on June 27 and charged with two counts of battery. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail.
  • Alexis Paredes, of the 100 block of Hickory Drive in Carpentersville, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. on June 28 in the 10000 block of South Illinois Route 31. He has been charged with driving under the influence, DUI over .08, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, no insurance and driver's license not on person. He was released pending a court hearing in McHenry County.
  • Steven A. Granata, 62, of the 900 block of Cedar Avenue in Elgin, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. on June 28 at Route 31 and Huntington Drive. He was charged with speeding and released with a future court date in McHenry County.
  • Stephen R. Hayes, 33, of Cape Coral, Florida, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. on June 29 at County Line Road and Stonegate Road. He is charged with driving while license suspended and no seatbelt. He was released with a court date in McHenry County.
  • Mohamad Hasan, 52, of the 2500 block of Fairfax Lane in Lake in the Hills, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. on June 30 at 4231 w. Algonquin road. He is charged with obstructing justice, driving while under the influence, failure to signal and driving in the wrong lane. He was taken to the McHenry County Jail.
