Coroner IDs Body Pulled From Fox River As Missing Algonquin Woman
Kimberly Koerner, 52, of Algonquin, was reported missing Sunday. Her body was found in the Fox River in Carpentersville Monday morning.
ALGONQUIN, IL — The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified a woman pulled from the Fox River in Carpentersville Monday morning as 52-year-old Kimberly L. Koerner of Algonquin. Koerner was reported missing Sunday morning.
The Carpentersville Police Department responded to the area of Bolz Road and Williams Road at about 8:40 a.m. Monday after receiving information about a body in the river, according to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department. The body was removed from the river at about 8:50 a.m. Monday, and positively identified as Koerner on Monday afternoon.
According to the coroner's office, there were no visible or overt signs of foul play, and an autopsy will be competed Wednesday.

Family members reported Koerner missing Sunday after she was last seen walking away from a Jewel-Osco store at 1501 E. Algonquin Road in Algonquin at about 9 a.m.
Friends said Koerner left her purse and other items in her vehicle, which was parked at the Jewel-Osco, according to the Lake & McHenry Scanner. She was wearing a white winter jacket and pajama bottom pants at the time, according to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department.

Authorities investigating the missing woman used drones and police dogs to try and track Koerner down. Images obtained from Ring doorbell cameras showed Koerner walking in a neighborhood immediately to the south and west of the Jewel-Osco store.
The grocery store is located about one mile west of the Fox River in Algonquin.
