Algonquin Preps For Miracle On Main
The event is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 4.
ALGONQUIN, IL — Algonquin will host its Miracle on Main from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Activities will kick off at 5 p.m. with the arrival of Santa and a tree-lighting ceremony in the Plaza in old town Algonquin, 2 S. Main St. High School choirs will perform, there will be live reindeer, an ice sculptor and other entertainment.
The Algonquin Village Board on Tuesday will consider a special public event request for the Miracle on Main. Recreation staff is requesting South Main Street be closed between Algonquin Road and Washington Street between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to village documents.

Downtown businesses can also participate in open houses during the event to invite attendees into their businesses and restaurants to provide quick meals or discounts as a way to "encourage visitors to enjoy the newly redeveloped downtown," according to village of Algonquin documents.
