Algonquin Relaunches Business Awards, Announces Winners

ALGONQUIN, IL — Several business owners received recognition from the village of Algonquin in recent weeks.

This year's Algonquin Business Awards were presented to the following businesses during a March 7 village board meeting:

• Rehabilitation/Improvement Award – Paul Kopetsky, for work on an existing building/parcel located at 203 South Main Street, including remarkable landscaping enhancements.
• Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Scott Levy, of Rosen Hyundai located at 771 South Randall Road, for contributions that have had a positive impact in the community.

• Enduring Business Award – Ziya Senturk, of Port Edward Restaurant located at 20 West Algonquin Road, for maintaining a thriving business for over five years, while also demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting local businesses.
• Budding Business Award – Deli 4 You, located at 1601 South Randall Road, for its unique business concept and remarkable success as a new business opened in the last 5 years.
• Project of the Year Award – NorthPoint Development Group, for outstanding achievement in redeveloping a key site on the Randall Road Corridor, located at 3001 Broadsmore Drive, with exemplary architectural design and/or use of materials, as well as exemplary land planning/open space.

The business awards program was restarted this year and aims to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements of local businesses during the past year.

“We are excited to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of local businesses,” said village board president Debby Sosine in a statement. “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of business owners in our community, and we are proud to support and celebrate their successes.”

Nominations for the business awards can be received by staff or the public, and recipients are selected by the Economic Development Commission.
