• Algonquin Township Highway Commissioner Sues County Over Road Repair Order (patch.com) — Algonquin residents are watching closely as Township Highway Commissioner Danijela Sandberg sues McHenry County over an order requiring her office to repair crumbling streets in the Algonquin Hills subdivision. The lawsuit challenges who is truly responsible for 11 deteriorating neighborhood roads and highlights growing tension over road conditions, legal costs, and upcoming hearings on additional maintenance issues.
• Patch's Best 2026 Halloween Yard Haunts: Lake and McHenry Counties (patch.com) — Algonquin families can visit the Dark Chapel yard haunt at 1490 White Chapel Lane, open nightly through Halloween with creepy animatronics and elaborate decorations.
