CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — Someone who purchased a lottery ticket in Carpentersville is $1.35 million richer after matching all five numbers in Monday night's Lucky Day Lotto drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at Trio, located at 695 Barrington Ave. in Carpentersville, according to a Tuesday announcement from the Illinois Lottery. The ticket matched all five numbers in the Nov. 2 evening drawing — 6, 12, 17, 31 and 43 — to win the $1,350,000 jackpot, the largest Lucky Day Lotto prize awarded so far this year.
The retailer will also receive a financial windfall. Trio will collect a $13,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket, equal to 1 percent of the jackpot, according to the Illinois Lottery.
The latest jackpot marks the sixth time this year that an Illinois Lucky Day Lotto player has won $1 million or more, according to lottery officials.
Statewide, more than 9.7 million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets have been sold in 2026, with players claiming nearly $58 million in prizes.
The identity of Monday's jackpot winner has not been announced.
Lottery officials are encouraging anyone who purchased a ticket for Monday evening's drawing to check their numbers.
The winner has one year from the drawing date to claim the prize. Lottery officials recommend signing the back of the winning ticket and keeping it in a secure location until the prize is claimed.
