Area Students Advance to District Level in Arts Program
The National PTA Reflections Program is one of the largest student arts recognition programs in the country, with hundreds of thousands student participants.
The Square Barn Elementary PTA is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011-12 PTA Reflections program sponsored by the National PTA.
The theme for this year’s program, “Diversity means…” allowed students to express themselves and receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.
Students in preschool through grade 12 are eligible to submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts–drawing, painting, print making, and collage.

Students advancing to the district level from the Square Barn Road Campus include:
T.J. Gerst (2nd grade) and Ryan Matustik (1st grade) from Mackeben Elementary School; Tony Baldacci (5th grade), Kendall Krich (3rd grade), Katie Matustik (4th grade), Kate O’Brien (4th grade), Shefali Sharma (5th grade), and Maryam Syed (4th grade) from Conley Elementary School.

Not only does the program allow children to learn to look at things, people and experiences in a fresh and exciting way, it also helps parents encourage and recognize the continuous self-discovery process through their children.
