Attempted Murder, Home Invasion Charges Filed In Stabbing

KANE COUNTY, IL — A Huntley man faces attempted murder and home invasion charges after he stabbed an acquaintance inside a home in Carpentersville on Dec. 28, police said. Bond for Joshua A. Doss, 39, of the 11600 block of Woodcreek South in Huntley, has been set at $500,000.

Doss is accused of entering a home in the 3100 block of Merrywell Court in Carpentersville on the afternoon of Dec. 28 and stabbing a person he knew twice with a 4-inch knife, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors did not indicate how Doss knew the person who was stabbed or the nature of their relationship. Authorities also have not detailed the extent of the victim's injuries.

Doss is next expected in court on Jan. 19.
