Attendant Beat Up During Robbery At Shell In Carpentersville

Police found a man accused of robbing an employee at the Shell on Route 25 in a backyard nearby.

CARPENTERSVILLE, IL - A man accused of beating up a 66-year-old gas station employee during a robbery Monday night in Carpentersville left with less than $200. Antonio D. Young, 25, of Chicago is currently held on a $100,000 bond for charges of armed violence, aggravated robbery/indicate firearm and aggravated battery, according to a report from the Daily Herald. He's accused of robbing the employee at the Shell station at Route 25 and Kings Road around 5:44 a.m.

The victim gave a description of the robber before police spotted Young nearby at Kings and Skyline roads. Police from the Kane County Sheriff's Office and East and West Dundee were helped by a police dog in taking him into custody in the backyard of a home on Skyline Road.

The employee was hospitalized for his injuries and has since been released.
