Authorities ID Man Killed In Fiery Crash on West Algonquin Road
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on West Algonquin Road.
Brandon Soriano-Saldana, 18, with the last known address in Hoffman Estates, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
Soriano-Saldana was in a Dodge Charger heading west on West Algonquin Road near Berg Street in Algonquin when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole, which was located on the north side of the roadway. When authorities arrived, they found the vehicle on fire and fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was extinguished and body extricated from the vehicle, Soriano-Saldana was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy performed in the coroner’s office this past Wednesday revealed that he sustained blunt force injuries and significant thermal injury (burning), according to a coroner’s office news release. Toxicology and carbon monoxide testing are pending at this time.

Manner of death determination is pending continued investigation by the Algonquin Police Department and the coroner's office.
