Beloved Downtown Algonquin Burger Joint Closes

Cattleman's Burger and Brew served its final customers Wednesday, but owners say the restaurant could return at a new location.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Cattleman’s Burger and Brew, a downtown Algonquin restaurant known for its homemade burgers, has permanently closed its location at 205 S. Main St.

The restaurant served its final customers Wednesday, with owners thanking patrons for “the memories, the meals, and the community” in a Facebook post announcing the closure, according to Shaw Local. The Main Street restaurant opened in 2019, nearly 40 years after an original Cattleman’s location owned by local restaurateur and real estate agent Tony Bellino closed at Routes 62 and 25.

Owners said Cattleman’s could reopen in a new location and that future updates will be shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
