Candidates for Spring Election Must File Paperwork This Week
Several seats will be up for election this spring.

Those interested in making a change in local government will get the chance to file their election petition packets this week to become a candidate for various races.
Local school, village, fire and library boards currently have seats open and voters will decide this spring who will fill those seats.
The packets can be filed between today and Dec. 20. Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements, such as proof of residency, and obtain the necessary signatures to have their names on the ballot.

Up for election this spring are board seats for the village of Lake in the Hills Board of Trustees, Community Unit School District 300 Board of Education, Consolidated School District 158 schools board, Algonquin-LITH Fire Protection District fire board, and Algonquin Area Public Library board.
