Cause of Death 'Pending' For Algonquin Man Found in Garbage Truck
Ian Wilke's death remains under investigation by the Chicago Police Department.

ALGONQUIN, IL – Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of a 24-year-old Algonquin man whose body was found in a garbage truck in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood last week. An autopsy performed on Ian M. Wilke last week did not provide many answers into the young man’s death and additional testing is needed to determine a cause of death, Natalia Derevyanny, director of communications for the Cook County Bureau of Administration, told the Daily Herald.
Ian’s body was found in a garbage truck at about 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 29 while the driver of the privately owned truck was emptying it, according to the news report.
Ian's sister posted on her brother's Facebook page on Nov. 29, letting his friends know that Ian was missing and that his family was looking for him. She later posted an update stating that Ian had died.
