Child Critically Injured In McHenry County Crash

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A child was critically injured in a T-bone crash near Marengo Monday evening, authorities said.

The Marengo Fire & Rescue District was called to the two-vehicle collision at Kishwaukee Valley Road and Deerpass Road in unincorporated Marengo at about 6:40 p.m. Monday, according to the fire & rescue district.

One car left the road and hit a tree, authorities said.

The juvenile required immediate extrication from the car and was taken by helicopter to Javon Be a Hospital - Riverside in Rockford, according to a news release. A man, who was driving one of the vehicles, was take to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
