The Residences is expected to open in spring 2012.
Work is underway on the first-ever apartment building in Lake in the Hills geared toward seniors.

"There’s lots of common area within the building," he said, adding that a community room, community kitchen, a TV room, exercise room and lounges all "create a really social environment."
A gazebo, outdoor grill and walking path are some of the outdoor amenities, he said.
A Need for Senior Apartment in LITH
Based on market research there is a need and desire for apartments geared toward seniors in the village, Hedges said, adding that currently LITH residents likely have to go to Crystal Lake or Woodstock to find apartments that cater to seniors.
Lake in the Hills Community Development Director Dan Olson said the village is already fielding calls about when the building will be ready.
"There is a need," Olson said. "We don’t have any other project like this in the village."
Hedges said anyone interested in leasing one of the units can call 847-445-6440.
