Construction Worker Dies In 'Workplace Mishap': Coroner
The 33-year-old Lake In The Hills man suffered a neck wound, according to authorities.

JOLIET, IL -- A 33-year-old Lake In The Hills man died in a "workplace mishap" Friday morning at a construction site in the 1100 block of Van Dyke Road, Will County Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil said. Christopher J. Verstraete was pronounced dead at 9:13 a.m. at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center emergency room, the coroner said. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Verstraete, a construction worker, suffered an "incised wound to the neck," according to the coroner's office.
Verstraete's death is under investigation by Joliet police and OSHA. The final manner and cause of death are pending those investigations, as well as final autopsy and toxicological results, according to O'Neil.
