ALGONQUIN, IL — A developer presented preliminary plans for a new commercial site along Randall Road that could bring a Cooper's Hawk Winery, BJ's Brewhouse and Raising Cane's to town.

Shaw Local is reporting Kensington Development Partners presented their plans during a Committee of the Whole meeting last week. The developers are eyeing a 13-acre site at the intersection of Randall Road and Commons Drive for the initial phase of construction, which would include the restaurants and a Belle Tire outlet, with two other construction phases to follow.

Shaw Local reports the initial phase could bring 300 new jobs and $500,000 in tax revenue to the village, Algonquin community development director Jason Shallcross said.

“With 50,000 cars going north and south on Randall Road every day, it’s easy to see why national brands continue to choose Algonquin,” Shallcross said.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will next consider the plan at an upcoming meeting. The commission is next set to meet on April 11.
