Coroner IDs Man Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting
Jenry Guadalupe Custodio Casimiro, 44, of Carpentersville, died from injuries consistent with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.
CARPENTERSVILLE, IL — The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified the man who died following an officer-involved shooting in Carpentersville early Saturday, authorities said.
Jenry Guadalupe Custodio Casimiro, 44, of Carpentersville, died from injuries consistent with multiple gunshot wounds following the shooting at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, according to preliminary results from an autopsy.
Officers with the Carpentersville Police Department responded at about 12 a.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Kings Road, according to a news release. According to police, the suspect shot two individuals during the incident.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment and one person remains in critical condition, while the other is listed in stable condition.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates the shooting was an isolated incident involving people who knew one another and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

When officers arrived at the scene, they observed the suspect actively shooting at another person, police said. Officers fired their guns, striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Under department policy, Illinois State Police will conduct an independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
