Crash At School, Package Theft, Forgery: LITH Blotter
A look at recent reports filed with the Lake in the Hills Police Department as well as arrests made by officers.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded to the following reports in recent days:
Dec. 11: Police received a report of items missing from a package delivered to home in the 3300 bloc of Sandstone Court.
Dec. 9: A Chicago woman and Chicago teen were arrested by Lake in the Hills police at about 3:40 p.m. on theft by deception and forgery charges. Quinquilla S. Upshaw, 26, of the 1000 block of S. 11th Avenue, Apt. 2, in Chicago, was taken to the McHenry County Jail following her arrest. A 17-year-old Chicago teen was also arrested and later released to a guardian.

Dec. 9: A vehicle crashed with a deer at West Algonquin Road and Harvest Gate at about 4:50 p.m. Property was damaged in the collision.
Dec. 8: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at Lincoln Prairie Elementary School, 500 Harvest Gate, at about 2:25 p.m. Property was damaged but no injuries were reported.

Dec. 8: A 16-year-old boy was arrested at 4:51 p.m. in Lake in the Hills and charged with domestic battery-bodily harm, domestic battery-physical contact and criminal damage to property. He was turned over to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.
Dec. 7: Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at James R. Rakow Road and Pingree Road at about 11:20 a.m. All three were taken to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley.
Dec. 6: Police arrested a 59-year-old Lake in the Hills woman at about 5:40 p.m. Anita J. Gustafson has been charged with two counts of domestic battery and was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
Dec. 5: Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at James R. Rakow Road and Pingree Road at about 4:20 p.m. Two people were taken to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley following the collision.
Dec. 4: A 43-year-old Huntley man faces a drunken driving charge following his arrest at a gas station in Lake in the Hills. Royal Peter, of the 9000 block of Newton Road in Huntley, faces charges of driving under the influence, disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was later released on bond.
Dec. 3: A 43-year-old man was taken into custody at about 11:20 p.m. and charged with violation of an order of protection. Vasile C. Stoica, of the 0 to 100 block of Hilltop Drive in Lake in the Hills, was taken to the McHenry County Jail following his arrest.
