NY Times Best-Selling Author to Speak at Heineman
David Finch will provide unique personal insights into the twice-exceptional learning experience through the lenses of Asperger's, ADD, OCD, and giftedness.
New York Times best-selling author David Finch will speak on understanding and educating students with Asperger's syndrome and attention deficit disorder on Monday, April 9, at Heineman Middle School.
Finch is the author of Oh You Needed Me to Pay Attention? Classroom Perspective from a Twice Exceptional and Deceptively Remarkable Student and the New York Times best-seller, The Journal of Best Practices, according to a press release.
Finch will present at , 725 Academic Drive, Algonquin, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 9.

The classroom environment can be confusing for gifted students with Asperger’s and ADD, according to the news release.
"In this entertaining and enlightening presentation, Finch will provide unique personal insights into the twice-exceptional learning experience through the lenses of Asperger’s, ADD, OCD, and giftedness," according to the news release. "Thoughtful, revealing, inspiring — it’s a must see for parents and educators."

The Community Organization for Gifted Children will host the event. A $5 registration fee will be charged to all Community Organization for Gifted Children nonmembers. Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to attend and are admitted free. Faculty members with district identification also will be admitted free.
