A blaze damaged an Algonquin home at 345 Crestwood Court Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to the home at 11:40 p.m. after the homeowner called dispatch to report smoke and flames coming from the home's deck.
The homeowner fought the blaze with a garden hose up until firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze by 11:58 p.m. No one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Illinois State Fire Marshal assisted with the investigation.
The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District received assistance from Huntley, Carpentersville, Barrington-Countryside, Crystal Lake, and Fox River Grove Fire Departments.
