Are These Cheerleaders' Skirts Too Short for School?

Cheerleaders at District 300 high schools are no longer allowed to wear their skirts to school.

How short is too short?

That is the question parents are asking in light of District 300’s decision to ban cheerleaders from wearing their skirts to school on game days, the Daily Herald reports. The skirts are too short, Superintendent Fred Heid told the Daily Herald, and are not compliant with the school district’s dress code.

Heid said wrestlers are also not allowed to wear their singlets to school and swimmers can not walk the halls in their swimsuits, according to the article.

Parents have taken to Facebook to debate the topic. Some parents are appalled by the school district’s move, saying the cheerleaders should be allowed to wear their uniforms and show their school spirit, while others argued that perhaps the uniforms needed to be more “appropriate,” the newspaper reports.
