East Dundee Man Points Gun At Off-Duty Cop On I-90: Police
The incident occurred shortly after the vehicle the man was in cut off the cop while driving on Interstate 90 in Chicago, police said.

CHICAGO, IL – An East Dundee man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly brandishing a handgun shortly after the vehicle he was riding in cut off an off-duty police officer on Interstate 90 in Chicago, authorities said. The off-duty Chicago Police Department officer called 911 to report the incident at 6:21 p.m. on Saturday. Charles R. Peterson, 28, was allegedly riding in the front passenger seat of the grey Honda when an Illinois State Trooper pulled over the vehicle on northbound I-90 at Nagle, according to the Illinois State Police press release.
Police searched the car and found a loaded handgun in the vehicle's center console with a round chambered, authorities said. A loaded magazine was also found near the handgun, police said. Peterson had a valid FOID card and concealed carry license.
The off-duty trooper also allegedly identified Peterson as the man who brandished the gun, according to the news release.

Peterson has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a Class 4 felony; and misdemeanor aggravated assault.
