The McHenry County Conservation District holds an Archaeological Awareness program. Drop in any time during 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to see demonstrations of flintknappers, stone grinders, cordage makers and more. Also try throwing an atlal (a prehistoric big game hunting weapon,) hear about the archaeology of the Little Big Horn Site, listen to presentations by archeologists on the prehistoric past and view artifacts on display at the Powers-Walker House. Registration required.
