National Public Lands Day: Helping Hands for America's Lands celebrates its 18th year of inspiring volunteers to help restore public lands.
The free event at includes a volunteer effort to collet seeds to help restore the prairie, nature quizzes with prizes, informative displays and literature, hotdogs and s'mores and a twilight hike with flashlights at 6:30 p.m.
No registration required but large groups should call ahead so there is enough food.
