February 27 WinterFest a Family Destination

Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce presents a revamped Home and Business Expo featuring music, demonstrations, and giveaways

WinterFest: a Home and Business Expo will be held on Saturday, February 27 from 9am to 4pm at H.D. Jacobs High School. In organizing the event, the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce has made community a first priority by hosting a food drive. Attendees are encouraged to donate a canned good or other non-perishable food item as they arrive at WinterFest. Items collected will benefit the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.

“This is the time of year when our inventory gets especially low even as the needs of the community increase,” notes Kay Boyer, Food Pantry Operations Manager. “We appreciate the Chamber making the Food Pantry part of Winterfest.”

A variety of entertainment is scheduled throughout the day, including the H.D.Jacobs Jazz Band, live cooking demonstrations with chefs from local restaurants, a dog agility demonstration, and the Aunt Janet Band. Food will be available for purchase. Attendees will have a chance to win giveaways throughout the day, including local restaurant gift cards, coffee gear, and a Fitbit®.
