Fire Destroys Home, Displaces 3 Residents

HUNTLEY, IL — A house fire in Huntley Monday evening has left three people without homes, fire officials said.

The Huntley Fire Protection District responded to a report of a house fire in the 10600 block of Kathleen Avenue, which is near Kathleen Avenue and Algonquin Road, at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday. after a passerby called to report the blaze.

Fire officials are lauding the passerby for reporting the blaze, which led to the home’s occupants being able to evacuate safely before firefighters arrived. No one was injured in the blaze.

The fire caused significant damage to both the structure and the interior of the home, leaving it uninhabitable. Three adults have been displaced and are now seeking assistance from family members, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Huntley Fire Protection District.
