Fire Protection District Investigating Cause Of Seminole Structure Fire
No one was injured in the fire Aug. 22.
Residential Structure Fire
On Saturday, August 22nd, 2020, at approximately 1:48 a.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 502 Seminole in Lake in the Hills. First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene at approximately 1:54 a.m. and found a detached garage of a single family home with heavy smoke showing from the front. While crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack the home owner stated that there were two dogs in the garage. First in crews entered the structure and initiated a search for the pets as the fire was brought under control. Two dogs were located inside the garage, were removed and resuscitative efforts were initiated. Unfortunately unsuccessful. The occupants of the residence were alerted of the fire and evacuated the home prior to fire department arrival. No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A damage estimate is not yet available.
