Folksinging Duo Performs Seasonal Music for Library Audience

Amy Beth and Neal Brown sang a series of traditional and non-traditional holiday songs.

Visitors to the received a treat from musician Amy Beth and her friend Neal Brown. The duo performed a series of seasonal tunes the night of Dec. 7.

Beth, who was originally scheduled to perform solo, said Brown had asked her at the last minute if he could join her. She said naturally she was happy to have him accompany her.

Beth and Brown are part of a Woodstock trio known as the Kishwaukee Ramblers. She said the group has been together for nearly five years and they can be found playing at small events across the area.

Beth plays a plethora of instruments, including the: banjo, spoons, fiddle, hambone, Appalachian dulcimer, Autoharp and guitar. She said for the past year she has been learning the cello, which she played at the library's mini-concert.

Together the two entertained the small crowd present by playing traditional and non-traditional seasonal songs.
