Former Coach, Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A teacher and former wrestling coach has been arrested on possession of child pornography charges, authorities said Friday. Scott E. Pollack, 45, of the 5900 block of Lucerne Lane in Lake in the Hills, has been charged with nine counts of dissemination of child pornography, class X felonies, and one count of unauthorized video recording, a class 3 felony.

Authorities took Pollack into custody Friday following an investigation by the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Wheeling Police Department and Illinois Attorney General's Office and a subsequent search of his home. Pollack is a teacher and former wrestling coach at Holmes Middle School in Wheeling, authorities said.

Pollack is in custody at the McHenry County Jail and has a bond hearing on Saturday.

The arrest is part of an ongoing effort by Attorney General Kwame Raoul to apprehend the most active offenders who download and trade child pornography online, authorities said.

“Child pornography exploits the victims each time one of these reprehensible images is viewed or shared,” Raoul said. “My office is committed to stopping the creation and spread of these horrendous images and will continue to partner with local law enforcement to help protect our children.”
