Great Pumpkin Roll Returns To Lake In The Hills

Bring your own pumpkin to roll for free or register to compete for the title of Champion Pumpkin Roller.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Get rid of your unwanted pumpkins this Saturday in Lake in the Hills with the annual Great Pumpkin Roll, set for Saturday, Nov. 4. Bring your pumpkin to Butch Hagele Beach, 71 Hilltop Drive in Lake in the Hills, to see how far it will roll or if it will smash.

The event starts at 11:30 a.m. You can roll your own pumpkin for free or you can enter the contest to win a special prize for landing on the "Lucky Pumpkin Spot" to become the area's Champion Pumpkin Roller.

The cost is $8 for residents and $10 for non-residents, and the fee includes one pumpkin and one raffle entry. Pre-registration is preferred. Day-of registration will be on a limited first come, first served cash-only basis.

The village will also collected unwanted Halloween candy for Operation Gratitude. Donations will be distributed to deployed troops, veterans, new recruits and first responders. Cards and letters of gratitude will also be accepted.
