
The village of Algonquin agreed with one area gas station owner's request to allow green LED lights be used to display gas stations in the village, according to the Daily Herald.
The Daily Herald reports Ratilal Patel wanted the green LED lights but learned when he applied for a sign permit in October they were not allowed under the village's former code.
On Tuesday night, the village board changed the code to allow the use of green lights as one village staff member said red and green lights are the industry standard, according to the article.
