No Injuries Reported In House Fire

The cause of the fire on Halfmoon Gate remains under investigation.

On Friday afternoon, March 12, 2021 at approximately 3:00pm the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 1179 Halfmoon Gate in Lake in the Hills. First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene within 5 minutes and found a ranch style single family home, with heavy smoke coming from the side of the home. Crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack and the fire was under control in 9 minutes. The occupant was alerted of the fire by smoke detectors and was able to evacuate the home prior to fire department arrival. No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, and the Fox River Grove Fire Protection District
