Hill Road Bridge in Richmond Reopens

The below information came from a McHenry County Division of Transportation press release.

The McHenry County Division of Transportation (MCDOT) reopened the Hill RoadBridge over the North Branch of Nippersink Creek, located just east of the Village of Richmond, in Richmond Township.

The reconstruction of this bridge was necessary due to a loss of structural integrity of several bridge deck beams and significant pile deterioration.  This $1.8 million bridge replacement project was funded 96% by federal and state bridge funds and 4 percent by county funds.

The McHenry County Division of Transportation apologizes for any inconvenience, and is appreciative of your patience and understanding during the construction of this project.  There is some remaining work left to be completed; periodic day time lane closures should be expected.

The bridge replacement is part of the continuing effort of the MCDOT to promote responsible public policy, ethical and high quality services and is dedicated to providing enhanced mobility while promoting a safe and efficient transportation system.
