Holiday Lights Recycling Program Begins Nov. 23

The Village of Algonquin will be accepting holidays lights from residents for recycling at the Ganek Municipal Center.

From November 23, 2020, through January 18, 2021, the Village of Algonquin will be accepting holidays lights from residents for recycling at the Ganek Municipal Center (2200 Harnish Drive).

The Holiday Lights Recycling Program, offered through Elgin Recycling, is a partnership with communities in the area to reduce the amount of recyclable material from holiday lights that is deposited into landfills during the holiday season. Last year, the Holiday Lights Recycling Program diverted over 50,000 lbs of holiday lights from landfills across the 27 participating communities.
