HUNTLEY, IL — A hot air balloon made an emergency landing in a Lake in the Hills neighborhood on Wednesday morning after an 80-year-old woman on board passed out. The woman said she was just checking an item off her bucket list when she decided to go up for the ride Thursday, Bob Perkins, crew chief with Nostalgia Ballooning, told ABC 7.

Huntley fire officials were called to the area of Haligus and Ackman roads at about 7:17 a.m. to assist with the medical emergency after the hot air balloon landed in the suburban neighborhood, according to the Daily Herald. The woman was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, Huntley Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Al Schlick told the newspaper.

There were six people on board the balloon and it was in the air for about an hour when the woman became light-headed, according to ABC 7.
