Hundreds Signed Up for Friday's Relay for Life at Jacobs

ALGONQUIN — Hundreds have signed up to participate in the District 300 Relay for Life, which is this weekend at .
As of Tuesday, 729 participants had registered for the event, including 92 teams, and $52,844 had been raised for the District 300 Relay for Life.
The event will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with the opening and survivor lap. The relay will continue through 6 a.m. Saturday.

The money raised at American Cancer Society Relay for Life events is used to help support cancer research and cancer patients, according to a Relay for Life press release.
The event also is meant to celebrate the lives of survivors, to remember those who lost their lives to cancer and to unite communities in the fight against cancer, according to the news release.
