Huntley High Looking For New Principal

The current principal has been promoted after District 158's superintendent announced his retirement.

Huntley Community School District 158 is currently seeking qualified applicants for an open principal position at Huntley High School. The new principal will begin in the 2018-19 school year. Current principal Scott Rowe will begin his new role as associate superintendent for District 158.

School officials on Thursday announced the associate superintendent Terry Awrey is retiring. Awrey spent 33 years with the school district and "has done almost every job in the district," according to a news release from District 158.

He was hired as a teacher in 1985, served as head football coach, assistant principal, principal, bus driver, summer custodian, assistant superintendent and, in most recent years, associate superintendent.
