Huntley Outlet Mall Demolition Begins This Month
The mall, which was shuttered last year after 22 years in Huntley, will be torn down.

HUNTLEY, IL – The Huntley Outlet Center, which was shuttered last spring, will now be torn down. The 279,000-square-foot mall, which is located on a highly-visibly 77-acre property at Interstate 90 and Route 47, has fallen into disrepair and village officials filed a lawsuit against the mall's owners on Feb. 14, calling on them to address fire and life safety code violations, according to the Daily Herald. Property owners and the village reached a settlement agreement to demolish the mall.
A demolition permit was issued last week and demolition is slated to begin by April 16, according to the Daily Herald. Under the court order, the demolition should be completed by June 15.
