We have developed an initial plan for our return to school in the fall. As you are aware, school districts across the country have been tasked with creating plans to provide for student education while protecting the health and safety of students and staff.
Our plan substantially reflects the mandatory guidance issued to school districts by the Illinois State Board of Education as well as months of work by hundreds of staff members who participated in planning groups and input from thousands of families and staff members who completed surveys.

The plan includes general information on all areas of our operations in light of the ongoing pandemic, with a primary focus on our operations while our region remains in Phase 4 of the State’s Restore Illinois Plan.
The District is offering all students two options for instruction:
- Students in all grade levels may opt for fully Remote Learning.
- Students in PreK-6th grade may opt for a fully in-person learning experience.
- Students in 7th-12th grades may opt for a hybrid experience that blends in-person and remote learning.
Families of students who will not require bus transportation to or from school are asked to “opt out” of their bus assignment and forego their eligibility for transportation services. Doing so will allow the District to optimize transportation services in keeping with the State-mandated bus capacity of 50 individuals.
