EAST DUNDEE, IL — Officials with Santa's Village are asking the village of East Dundee for financial help as they eye more renovations for their amusement park, including a lazy river and updates to the iconic Polar Dome. The dome is currently used for laser tag but the village would like to bring back the dome's ice skating rink, add a family gaming area and restaurants.

Construction work on the $3.5 million project could start this summer if Santa's Village gets the financing they needs, the Daily Herald is reporting. Officials with the amusement park are looking for tax increment financing or a loan on amusement tax earnings from the village.

Officials with Santa's Amusement estimate the improvements could boost amusement tax for the village by $150,000 in the first year after improvements, the newspaper is reporting.
