Jacobs Pair Qualify for State Golf Tournament

Two Jacobs High Schools golfers will be competing at the IHSA 3A State Boys Golf Tournament this weekend.

Senior Jack Ramsett and senior Chris Boyle are among the 112 3A golfers who qualified for the two-round tournament that takes place Friday and Saturday at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington.

Both golfers came out of the Huntley Sectional, at which Jacobs finished sixth as a team. Ramsett shot a 75—equaling the fourth-lowest score shot at the sectional—while Boyle shot a 76.

Another local golfer, Trent Craig, a junior from Huntley High School, will also be competing in the Class 2A tournament. Craig shot a 76 at the Huntley Sectional.

The Huntley High School boys golf team placed fourth at the sectional meet while the top three teams advance to the state tournament.

Friday's first-round tee times are set and can be viewed on the IHSA website.
