Teen Killed In Rakow Road Crash

Two others were injured in the three-vehicle crash on Rakow Road between McHenry and Pyott roads Tuesday night.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A 17-year-old boy was killed in a rollover crash on Rakow Road in Lake in the Hills Tuesday night, police said.

The three-vehicle collision happened at about 10:05 p.m. Tuesday on Rakow Road between McHenry and Pyott roads. Authorities say a Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra and Volkswagen Passat were involved in the crash.

A front seat passenger in the Passat, the teen, was taken to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley where he was later pronounced dead. The drivers of the Passat and Sentra were injured and taken to area hospitals, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.

Following the crash, the eastbound lanes of Rakow Road at South McHenry Avenue were closed until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
