Kane County Elects Don Kramer as New Sheriff
Kramer won with 63 percent of the vote Tuesday over William Mayes Sr., according to unofficial results.

A new sheriff will take the reins in Kane County.
With all precincts reporting, Don Kramer, a Republican from Geneva, won with 72,730 votes over William Mayes Sr., a Democrat from Aurora, who had 42,733 votes, according to unofficial results Tuesday night.
Incumbent Pat Perez did not seek re-election in Tuesday’s race. Kramer retired as a lieutenant from the Kane County Sheriff’s Department in 2009 while Mayes is a current lieutenant at the sheriff’s office, the Daily Herald reports.

Kramer lost to Perez for the race for sheriff in 2010, according to Suburban Life Publications.

- Kurt Kojzarek, republican: 3,144
- Hidayat Khan, democrat: 1,869
Kane County District 23 (10 of 10 precincts)
- Margaret “Magie” Auger, republican: 2,652
- Kevin Smith, democrat: 1,541
